The distinctive red and white candy-striped West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the most frequently depicted American lighthouses on calendars and posters. The lighthouse stands on the easternmost point of the United States mainland. Thomas Jefferson signed the order in 1806 authorizing construction of a lighthouse at West Quoddy. The tower was finished in 1808, and guided ships through the Quoddy Narrows, between the U.S. and Canada, until 1858 when it was replaced with the current tower and keeper's house. |
B.L. Ander has a fondness for lighthouses and has visited the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse on many occasions searching for unique conditions to highlight the structure. His limited edition lighthouse print collection is dedicated to these sentinels of the seas and the important task they have performed. |
| Each lighthouse print in the B.L. Ander giclee print collection is printed with archival materials designed to produce long lasting rich color. Additionally, each giclee print is signed and numbered by B.L. Ander. This limited edition consists of 200 art prints and 10 proof prints. |
